Diamond School of Performing Arts is pleased to announce the following as their Patrons - all who have been actively involved with our students:
Dominik Diamond
Dominik Diamond is a writer and presenter who first appeared on our television screens as host of Gamesmaster in 1992. Since then he has appeared on over 200 shows including What The Papers Say, Richard and Judy, Extreme Celebrity Detox and his world-renowned religious documentary Crucify Me.
He started his radio career on BBC Radio 5 Live hosting Sportscall back in 1995 and was named Scottish Radio Presenter of the Year in 2007 for his work on the Dominik Diamond Breakfast Show for Xfm Scotland for which he also received a prestigious Sony Nomination for UK Music Radio Personality of the Year.
He is also one of Britain 's best-known columnists, having written for The Star since 1998. Our students have had a wealth of experience working on many shows with Dominik.
Jonny Ffinch
Jonny
was Head of Production at Hewland International until Jane Hewland retired and
wound up her business. Jonny now runs his own production company "Pintsize
Productions". Jonny has worked on several projects with our students and
had this to say:
"We've used Diamond School of Performing Arts students for well over ten years in everything from television entertainment and drama to voice over work and even some theme tune vocals.
Finding young people who have the attitude and the training required for professional standards can be a challenge and of course, it can be expensive and time consuming if things don't work out, as well as compromising the result.
We never have that problem. We just pick up the phone and talk through the situation with Paula. Without fail she has found us what we were looking for and the producers have come away singing the students praises.
It's a blessing to find a school so full of energy and talent."
Many thanks indeed Jonny. Believe me, the students have also loved working with you and have learned so much.
Marty Benson
I first met Marty several years ago while working at Bathnight Productions. Marty was one of the producers there and a brilliant one too. Needless to say, Marty has gone on to producing on several of tvs most popular celebrity reality shows. Marty has just "got out of the kitchen" having been one of two Reality Confessional Producers on "Hells Kitchen". Last year saw Marty in a confessional way too as he was the sexy Scottish voice all the celebrities turned to in the jungle hut on "I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here" and he's about to head to the jungle again to begin the new series. Following on from the last series of "I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here" where David Guest proved to be a very popular contestant, Marty went on to be Series Producer on "This is David Guest".
Norman Bowman
I first knew Norman when he performed alongside my offspring in our hometown of Arbroath and he became good friends with one of my sons. Norman later trained at the London Academy of Performing Arts where he graduated in Musical Theatre and has since had phenomenal success in the West End and On Tour. His theatre credits include Harry The Horse/Understudy Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls (West End); Marius in Les Miserables (West End and UK tour), Frederick in Pirates of Penzance; Tony Candelino in Masterclass; Tony in West Side Story, Artie in Sunset Boulevard, Munkustrap in Cats, Danny in Grease (UK tours), Prince Charming in Cinderella (Hackney Empire), various roles including Anthony/Claudio/Malvolio In Love, Lust and Jealousy under a Mediterranean Sky (a collection of Shakespearean scenes for the Budua Arts Festival, Montenegro). Norman 's tv and film credits include Don't Look Back and Los Dos Bros . Recordings include Pack Up Your Troubles, Song Divine and a rendition of James Brown's This Is a Man's World for the soundtrack for Don't Look Back .
Norman is currently appearing in Parade at the Donmar Warehouse Theatre. It was seeing Norman on tour in West Side Story that inspired me to have this as my first production with Milton Keynes Community Theatre Company. I took along a group of our students who were delighted that Norman spent time with them showing them around behind the scenes and on stage.
Dominik, Jonny, Marty and Norman are honoured and delighted to be Patrons of Diamond School of Performing Arts though it is us who are are truly honoured they have come on board.
